It's been a sad week for our nation. 💔 What happened to conservative commentator Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University, (a place not far away that I know well) has made me feel sad and angry about what is going on in our country. There was a shooting at another high school which is in the same school district (Jefferson County Colorado) where I went to junior high and high school. Then, of course there was the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 attack on our nation back in 2001. On weeks like this, it is especially important to take an accounting of our blessings, and to do so, I am joining again with Susanne over at Living to Tell the Story for Friday's Fave Five.
💜 I'm grateful for people like Charlie Kirk who are willing to stand up for Christian principles and to testify of Jesus Christ. He gave his life standing up for what is good and true - faith, family and country.
💜 My 19-year-old grandson had enrolled and was supposed to be attending classes at Utah Valley University this semester and he may well have been at the Charlie Kirk event, however, at the very last minute, before fall classes began, my grandson decided to put off classes until winter semester so he could save some more money. I'm honestly grateful that my grandson was not at UVU to see the horrendous assassination that took place there on Wednesday this week.
😊 This is the two-bedroom condo that we purchased in 2018 and have been using as rental property. We have had it up for sale for several months. Last week, we found out that our tenant has been in violation of her lease, and without going into details, we asked our property manager to begin eviction proceedings. A couple of days later, we received word from the property manager that the tenant had agreed to move out by October 8. We are hoping that the condo will be much easier to sell once it is empty. I have been fairly stressed out about the situation, and I'm grateful that the tenant has agreed to move out.
😊 We are grateful that we have new renters in our Southern Utah home. They are moving in next week.
😊 I finished this wonderful, historical fiction book, The Indigo Girl by Natasha Boyd, last week. I am so grateful that I had this great book (which my daughter recommended) that helped me keep my mind going in a more positive direction during a troubling week.
😊 Our temperatures have been coming down this past week. I am grateful for the fall cool down, which has made my evening walks more comfortable and enjoyable.
😊 Charly has been so helpful this week. He did most of the house cleaning and fixed a couple of absolutely delicious meals. He also did the grocery shopping and brought home these beautiful red roses for me. I am so grateful for this wonderful husband that God blessed me with.
That's all for this week. Let's hope that next week is better.
Until next time,
😊Deb💖
