Another month has passed and we are now onto November, the most grateful month of the year! Here are the things I am thankful for as the new month begins. I am joining as always with Susanne and friends over at Living to Tell the Story to recall the good in the week with gratitude.
😊 I broke down and bought this phone holder to attache to my Health Walker and it arrived this week. How, I can watch Youtubes while I am exercising. The pictures of it aren't the best, but it does the job I was hoping it would and it cost less than $20. I wanted to get it before the snow hits and I have to exercise indoors more. I am grateful that I now have a way to watch interesting content and learn while I exercise.
😊 I got the latest Covid vaccine. I know that Covid vaccines are controversial, and many people aren't getting one, but after thinking about it, I decided to go with it. I opted for the Novavax shot, which is a more tradition vaccination like the flu shot. I was told has few side effects than the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines, and that proved to be the case for me. I got my flu shot back in September, so I should be good to go for the winter! I am grateful that there are vaccination options for those of us who want them.
😊 A friend of mine told me that the Costco Pharmacy was a good place to get the Covid vaccine, so I decided to give it a try. I made a 2:30 p.m. appointment but showed up a few minutes early. I thought I would have to wait a while, but the pharmacist called me back almost immediately. I was actually completely finished and on my way home by the actual time of my appointment. As one of my friends told me, it was "easy peasy" to get the updated Covid vaccine, and I am grateful for that.
😊 Halloween came and went and Charly and I enjoyed a relaxing evening sitting together, warm and cozy in our living room so we could quickly answer the door for trick-or-treaters, which honestly we didn't have to do very much. Charly spent the evening reading. I was working on this blog post. It was a nice evening at home together. I am always grateful for my home and the man I share it with.
😊We had a few trick-or-treaters, not a lot, but that's OK. Here are some of our trick-or-treaters as captured by our Ring doorbell camera. We live in a more "mature neighborhood" with lots of young childless couples and empty nesters. In addition, our church had a trunk-or-treat activity a few days before Halloween, so lots of people had taken their little ones to that. Even without a lot of trick-or-treaters, it was still fun to decorate our front porch and to have candy ready for whoever showed up. I am grateful for the fun and festive fall Halloween season!
😊 My daughter texted me this fun pictures of my Utah grandchildren all dressed up and ready for trick-or-treating. That's my nine-year-old granddaughter in white dressed as an angel, and she truly is one. Looks like her friends were mostly dressed as Barbie.
Here's my oldest Utah granddaughter as a minion from Despicable Me.
Here's our sweet five-year-old granddaughter as a skeleton. So cute.
Here's the five-year-old along with her twelve-year-old brother (dressed as a sumo wrestler), and his friend. Their costumes are all so creative and it looks like they all had a great Halloween! We are always grateful for our pictures so we can see what the grandchildren are up to. We are also grateful that we get to see them again this coming weekend.
😊 With Halloween over, it's time to start looking forward to Thanksgiving and then Christmas. I always start on my Christmas cards before Thanksgiving so that I can mail them out right after! I ordered my family picture Christmas cards last week and they arrived this week. We are so pleased with them. I also ordered a couple of Christmas ornaments with a picture of the grandkids - one for me and one for my daughter. I have been using the company Photoaffections for several years now, and we are always very pleased with their products. Now, it's time to get started on the annual Jones Family Christmas Letter! I am grateful for the upcoming holiday season and the cards and photo ornaments I ordered that turned out so well.
😊 My long-time blog friend Mari, over at My Little Corner of the World is a great cook and she shares a new recipe on her blog every Thursday. I have tried many of her recipes and am rarely disappointed. This is the dish she featured last on her last Cooking Thursday post, Bacon and Egg Crescent Squares. I decided to give it a try for dinner and it was a 5 star hit with Charly and I. We love breakfast food for dinner, and this was so good. You can find the recipe over at Mari's blog linked above. The only things I did different was scramble the eggs and use cheddar instead of parmesan cheese. It was an excellent! I am so thankful for my blog friends who are genuinely nice people who give me great recipes and ideas.
That's all for now. Thanks for visiting to share the good and be grateful. Have a nice weekend!
Until next time,
😊Deb💖
