The last few days of our end of summer vacation were spent in Colorado Springs. Although I was born and spent a good part of my childhood and teenage years in Denver, Colorado, I had never been to Colorado Springs when I was old enough to remember it. If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know that Charly and I are looking for a nice place to settle when I retire in about four years, and we had read good things about Colorado Springs, so we decided to go and have a look. We were not disappointed. Colorado Springs is a lovely city right at the foot of one of the Rocky Mountains highest peaks (Pikes Peak). We spent a lot of our time in Colorado Springs looking at neighborhoods and houses, but we did go to one of the area's major natural attractions, Garden of the Gods. Garden of the Gods is a registered National Natural Landmark and Colorado Springs City Park. It has 300 foot sandstone rock formations against the backdrop of snow-capped Pikes Peak.
