Two Weeks and Lots of Good Things

Last week, I was out of town, so I was not able to participate in Friday's Fave Five with Susanne and friends over at Living to Tell the Story.   I'm back this week with two weeks worth of good stuff and gratitude.

😊 I am grateful that Charly and I were able to have a fall-break getaway to Idaho last week.

😊 I'm grateful that we could visit some fun and beautiful places during our trip, and that we got to see Josh.  I'm also grateful that Josh had time to join us for a day trip out to Craters of the Moon National Monument.

😊 When we were in Idaho, we went to a couple of used book stores and I found some Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books, that I needed for my growing sets.  I am grateful that both Charly and I found some great books in Idaho.

😊 We got our mail-in ballots last week, and promptly filled them out and took them to the ballot drop box at the county election office.  I am always grateful for the opportunity to vote.  It is a right and privilege I take very seriously.  I am so grateful that I can cast my ballot.

😊 I am also grateful for the opportunity to write non-partisan get-out-the-vote letters and postcards.  A friend of mine from California got me involved in this back in 2020 and I decided to do it again for this election.  With the election as close as it is, perhaps even small efforts like this, done by many people, could make a difference.   I hope that everyone who can, takes the opportunity to vote!

😊 Going back a week, I am so very grateful for the generous gifts and many cards, texts, emails  and other messages I received on my birthday.  I felt truly loved and I am so grateful.

😊 Two dear friends and I went out for a belated birthday dinner this week. We went to a fun nearby sandwich shop and I had a delicious turkey/bacon/avocado sandwich. I am grateful for these ladies who have become such good friends.

😊 My potted mums are a bright and beautiful addition to my fall front porch.  I am grateful that these lovely plants, that I purchased last year, survived the winter and are gracing the front of my house this autumn.

😊 I am grateful that we finally found a handyman skilled in work working to rebuild the door and replace the trim on our shed.  Now we just need to finish the painting and this project will be finished.

😊 Fall has finally come to Utah, and we had pouring rain all day Thursday. Rain is forecast to change to snow tonight and all the areas in green on the map above are supposed to wake up to snow tomorrow.  Up to 20 inches are expected in our nearby mountains.  I am grateful for cooler weather and rain and snow which we need to renew our water supply each year.

😊 With winter on the way to Utah, we were able to book some time at the Orange Tree Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona for next spring break in April 2025.  I love fun road trip getaways and I am grateful for and already looking for this spring trip coming six months from now.

Until next time,
😊Deb💖
