In honor of Valentine’s Day this coming Friday, I am joining in with other bloggers, including my friend Faith at Gold in the Clouds, for some love-themed Wednesday Hodgepodge questions.
1. Did you watch the Super Bowl? Did your team win? What's your favorite game day snack for whatever sport is happening?
No, Charly and I did not watch the Super Bowl. Although I did not watch it, I was hoping that the Eagles would win because I spent an entire summer in Philadelphia about eight years ago and I really fell in love with that city. It is a fascinating city of tremendously important American history and everyone we met there was super nice, helpful, and kind. As far as snacks go, I like popcorn, pistachio nuts or cheese and crackers.
2. What's your “superpower"?
My “superpower” is probably getting teenagers (students in my classroom) to do stuff they wouldn’t normally want to do, while not breaking out in a full-on riot.
3. Will you do anything special on Valentine's Day? If so, do share. Any thoughts on/about this particular holiday? Share a favorite verse or quote relating to love.
My husband and I were planning to go out to dinner on Valentine’s Day, but he is currently battling a lung infection so we may get take-out from a Chinese place we like. I like to remember those I love - on Valentine’s Day. Of course, my husband and I always acknowledge the day in some way, and in addition, I usually give cards and some kind of treat or remembrance to my kids and grandkids. This year, in addition to cards and Valentine’s candy, we took some Valentine crafts to our grandchildren. I also sent cards and gift cards for gas to our oldest grandson and our son in college. I want the people I love to know I love them and are thinking about them.
